Helix Wilderness Park Dispatch

Something weird is going on at the outer edges of the Park. Nobody is in agreement about exactly what.

Welcome to Helix, a small, not-very-well-funded wilderness area somewhere in Northern California. Come for a hike, or stay in our Campground for a weekend. Enjoy the river, forests, and scenic views of the Pacific from the cliffside hiking trails. 

Backwoods camping permits are available with a reservation from the Front Office. Remember not to feed the wildlife and do not make any pacts with the Good Folk. 

Certain activities, such as foraging in the backwoods area and Summoning Circles require additional permit. Please let the Rangers know your plans when making your reservation. Hunting is prohibited within the bounds of the Park.

Our Park is maintained by a team of dedicated Rangers based at six fire watch towers throughout the Park. Please disregard any mention of a seventh tower. It does not exist.

The Helix Wilderness Park Dispatch is more than a monthly mail subscription. It is an immersive monthly magazine of handmade artifacts and lore that invite you to explore a very strange little world.

Subscribers will receive a monthly Dispatch containing:

• An art print or postcard
  
• Internal communications between Park staff
• Stickers or Specimen Cards
• A variety of other documents, artifacts and ephemera from the Park and its world

Founding Members

The Helix Wilderness Park Dispatch is launching in July of 2026 and as such the first 25 subscribers will receive a Laminated, numbered, and signed Season Pass to the Park, as well as some other exclusive goodies in subsequent Dispatches. 

I want to make this world as big and expansive as I can, so as the subscriber base grows I can make more investments in it. The Rangers really want a new coffee maker and Tower 6 keeps making noise about a handwashing station, but I'm not making any promises.
